Morgan Motor Company has introduced its latest flagship model, the Supersport, which ushers in a new era of design and performance for the British automaker.
Using the new CXV aluminum platform, the Supersport has greater rigidity, more refined steering, and a better suspension system for a smoother ride.
The Supersporthas two roof options: a carbon composite hard topremovable and a folding mohair soft top — providing two distinct driving experiences. It also has increased storage space behind the seats and a trunk, making it one of Morgan's most touring-friendly models.
Inside, the Supersport combines modern technology and classic design. It has an advanced Sennheiser audio system, wireless phone charging, and Bluetooth hands-free calling. Despite these modern features, it remains true to Morgan's "21st Century Coachbuilding," which combines traditional craftsmanship and modern engineering.
Under the hood, the Supersport is powered by a BMW 3L TwinPower Turbo inline-six engine with 335 hp. It is paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, providing a responsive and exciting drive. The new platform is 10% more rigid than the previous model, improving stability. Additionally, the optional carbon fiber hardtop adds 10% more rigidity.
For better aerodynamics, the Supersport features a new front splitter, smoother body surfacing, and underbody improvements. Drag is also reduced by 5% and lift is reduced by 20% for better handling. It has new lightweight forged aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires for better grip and handling.
The Supersport is available now for approximately $107,500 USD. Customers can configure their own design via Morgan’s official website, and each vehicle will remain handcrafted at the Pickersleigh Road factory in the UK.
