A female streamer in Tokyo, Japan was stabbed while on a live stream this morning of March 11. According to reports, the victim is in her 20sage and suffered multiple stabbingsto the neck, head, and chest. He was immediately taken to the hospital but was declared dead.
A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene and admitted to having a dispute with the victim. Authorities are currently investigating whether the two were related.
The victim was identified as a streamer who goes by the name Mogami Ai and is known for her content “Yamanote Line Walk” where she walks around Tokyo. Unfortunately, the tragic incident was witnessed by over 6,500 viewers on her live stream. In the video, she can be seen lying on the floor covered in blood, and the suspect can be heard coldly saying: "She's probably dead."
From just a few viewers, the stream quickly grew in number of people who issued warnings and called authorities for help.
