A mother in Taiwan ran the air conditioner 24/7 for six years to preserve her son's dead body in their home. According to Sinchew Daily News, Lee, a 53-year-old woman, died six years ago in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Because of his request to be buried after 7 years, his 75-year-old mother continued to preserve his body through nonstop air conditioning.
It was discovered after a social worker received a report about the situation. Because of the hardships of life, the mother could no longer afford the electricity, so she admitted what she had been doing for years. According to the report, the old man rarely spoke to his neighbors, and most assumed he lived alone in an apartment unit on the third floor of a five-story building. Xie Yongchang, head of the community, tried to visit the old man but discovered he had no doorbell.
