An extremely rare vehicle has hit the market—the unique 2018 Aston Martin V8 Super Cygnet. First shown at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed, this car combines the size of a city car and the speed of a supercar, making it one of Aston Martin's wildest projects.
Made at the special request of a client and developed by Q by Aston Martin – Commission Service, the Super Cygnet is a heavily modified version of the compact Cygnet. It was replaced by a 4.7L V8 engine from the Vantage S with 430HP, a 7-speed paddle-shift transaxle, and rear-wheel drive. Result? 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 170 mph!
To handle the weight of the engine, the Cygnet's chassis was reinforced with a safety roll cage, and the suspension and braking system were upgraded from the V8 Vantage S. Although it still looks like a Cygnet on the outside, almost everything of its parts have been reengineered for extreme performance. Inside, you will find Recaro seats, carbon fiber dashboard, and Vantage instrument panel—a perfect mix of racing and city driving.
With only 2,900 miles driven, it remains like new. Always cared for and stored by Aston Martin engineers, so it's definitely still in top condition. Right now, it's listed as "reserved" on the Nicholas Mee website, but no price has been released.
How expensive can it be? One thing is for sure—this Super Cygnet is a collector's dream!
