The design of this Spanish firm follows the natural form of the surroundings, so the structures are built at different heights—just like the ancient Mediterranean villages by the sea. The layout consists of squares with different levels, providing dynamic space for hotel pavilions, apartments, and villas. Stairs, bridges, and walkways add a fortress-like vibe, while the alternating directions of the stairs offer a maze-like feel, seemingly inspired by the surreal art of MC Escher.
RBTA has installed private terraces, outdoor pools, and gardens for a more relaxing and private experience for guests. The resort has beautiful viewpoints overlooking the blue sea, sky, and green surroundings, while the bold red exterior provides a bold contrast.
Its minimalist design resembles the 3D digital architecture seen in the work of Joe Mortell and Six N. Five—digital designers popular in the "metaverse" era. As digital design continues to expand, it's possible that more physical spaces will look inspired by this futuristic and surreal aesthetic.
