A female tourist from Russia died after trying to take a selfie from the footboard of a train.
According to the report of the local newspaper Daily Mirror, the victim was identified as Olga Perminova. He allegedly tried to take a selfie while hanging on the footboard of the train between Badulla and Hali Ela stations in Sri Lanka.
The incident happened last week while the Podimanike train, which was heading towards Colombo Fort, was in the direction of Ella. According to authorities, the 53-year-old tourist hit his head on a rock near a dam, causing him to fall from the train.

He was immediately assisted by medical staff at Hali Ela Railway Station and taken to Badulla Teaching Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the efforts of the doctors, he later died.
Based on the report of Daily Mirror, Perminova arrived in Sri Lanka with other foreign tourists. He is said to be from Saratov and belongs to a security firm in Moscow.
