Commemorating the 39th anniversary of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution this February 25, a multi-sectoral group recalled the importance of accountability of government officials and resistance to historical revisionism.
TAMA NA (Taumbayan Ayaw sa Magnanapat and Abusado Network Alliance) calls for unity among groups with common goals for justice, accountability, and good governance.
"We must remember the EDSA People Power so as not to forget our history and see its connection to the present," said the group.
According to them, there are still many problems facing Filipinos today, such as the misuse of public funds and the constant increase in prices.
"The people's money, for the people. It should not go into the pockets of corrupt officials,” the group added.
