For Gunpla lovers, we know that different techniques like painting, cutting, and weathering are used to make our models look good. Today, let's meet Shun (@shun_m47), a Japanese modeler who shared his recent project: a heavily modified HG Sazabi from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack." He used the hashtag (Kore ga Kō Naru Senshuken), which means "This Becomes Like This Championship," to show the before-and-after transformation of his work.
Shun is no ordinary hobbyist; in 2013, he won the Gundam Builders World Cup (GBWC) with his ν Gundam model. This time, his focus is on the ν Gundam's opponent, the Sazabi. From a simple HG kit, he modified it extensively by adding panel lines, custom armor, and detailed thrusters. He made the previously flat shield emblem 3D using plastic sheets. Because of these changes, it looks like his HG Sazabi used to be RG or Real Grade. In fact, his work here took three months, and many netizens were impressed, saying: "Is this really just HG?" and "It's cool! The detail seems to be beyond RG!"
