
A powerlifting champion passed away after being hit by a 595-pound (270 kg) barbell during rehearsing He is 17 years old.

According to Vikram Tiwari, station house officer of Naya Shahar, the accident happened while he was being observed by his trainer, who also suffered of minor injuries.

"Yashtika was lifting weights at the Power Headquarters gym under the guidance of her trainer. She suddenly lost her balance, so the barbell fell on her neck," Tiwari said.
His gym mates immediately helped him, while his coach tried to revive him with CPR, but he showed no signs of life.
He was taken to the nearest hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The family of Acharya did not file a complaint in connection with the incident.
An autopsy was conducted, and his remains were returned to relatives on Wednesday, February 19.
