Volvo has unveiled its latest electric luxury sedan—the ES90, a fully electric vehicle with advanced tech features. Its official introduction is set for March 5, 2025, and is expected to continue to evolve through over-the-air updates that will add more advanced safety, connectivity, and performance.
The ES90 uses a dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin core computing system, with 508 trillion operations per second, so it has the strongest computational power in Volvo. With AI-driven safety features, more effective battery management, and real-time sensor integration, driving will be safer and more efficient. Over time, it can expand its deep learning models from 40 million to 200 million parameters, which means it will continue to improve safety and performance.
The ES90 is the second model to use the SPA2 platform 400;">, after EX90. All of Volvo's upcoming electric vehicles will use their Superset tech stack, which allows OTA updates for more advanced connectivity, safety features, and battery efficiency 400;">.
Of course, Volvo-level safety will not be lost! The Safe Space Technology of the ES90 has 1 lidar, 5 radars, 8 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, combined with a driver-understanding system to detect obstacles, even in the dark, and automatically activate safety measures.
"The Volvo ES90 is one of the most advanced cars today," according to Anders Bell, Volvo's Chief Engineering and Technology Officer. "It's built using our Superset tech stack, so it prioritizes safety and continuous innovation."
