A woman was injured after being run over by her ex-boyfriend in Cagayan de Oro this Friday. After being hit, the suspect allegedly tried to pull him back.
According to the victim, Elle, she and her ex-boyfriend have been separated for two weeks and have not seen each other for a long time. That's why he was so surprised when he noticed his car near where he was going to work.
While on his way home and walking, he was suddenly hit by the suspect's car, causing him to fall and hit his head on the pavement.
"When he bumped into me, I jumped and hit my head on the pavement. Maybe he thought I was dead. But when I raised my head, I saw him driving the car towards me again. He was even backing in my direction. Fortunately, I immediately got up and ran," said Elle.
The victim was taken to the hospital and suffered head injuries as well as scars on various parts of the body.
According to the Cagayan de Oro police, Elle used to blotter against her ex-boyfriend. It is said that this is not a simple case of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Physical Injury, but also a violation of RA 9262 or Violence Against Women and Children.
Right now, authorities are still searching for the suspect who fled.
