According to reports, Square Enix is currently developing a remastered version of Final Fantasy XV aimed at fixing criticisms it gained when it was first released. The remastered version plans to add new playable areas and movies to enhance the game's story and world-building.
The battle system is expected to be more refined, taking inspiration from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to provide more colorful and more immersive experience. It will also see that online and "co-op" elements will be removed to focus on a simplified story for solo gameplay.
The remastered version attempts to correct the inconsistencies in the story by rearranging the events to use a more chronological way of telling the story. Square Enix expects to make an official announcement by the end of the year, and the launch is expected to follow shortly.
