A girl's body was found inside a suitcase and floating in the Sapang Alat River in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan on Thursday afternoon.
According to Police Chief Master Sergeant Adrian Nolasco, the victim is a resident of Tala, Caloocan. They received a report from a concerned citizen regarding a body found in the river. “When we arrived, we found the suitcase partially open and a dead body inside. We immediately called the investigator and asked for help from SOCO to recover the body," said Nolasco.
The investigation revealed that the victim was last seen on February 7 when he said goodbye to a friend who was asking for help. The family reported him missing on February 10 after he did not return home. According to the victim's brother, "He said he went to see his friend who was being beaten by his wife. But 10 p.m. that, he didn't feel anymore."
According to the SJDM PNP, they found a hole in the victim's neck. "I hope the person behind the crime will feel guilty and the truth will come out," said his brother.
Currently, the authorities are pursuing two persons of interest. "We continue to gather evidence to solidify the case. We will make sure that justice is achieved," said Nolasco.
