We all know that global environmental regulations continue to tighten, which has resulted in the gradual disappearance of turbocharged engines from the motorcycle market. It's just as difficult to ensure that a turbocharged engine meets the latest environmental standards without spending a fortune. But some companies, such as Langen Motorcycles from the UK, continue to stand by their principle and introduce new turbocharged models. Their latest announcement? The LS12 Lightspeed, a turbocharged concept bike!
Langen Motorcycles was founded in 2018 by Christofer Ratcliffe, a motorcycle enthusiast with high standards in motorcycle design.
Their previous model, the Two Stroke, was a two-stroke V-twin bike with a handcrafted chassis. Impressively, it passed Euro 5 environmental standards and became available in Europe. Now, the Lightspeed turbocharged bike has been officially released after 18 months of preparation, and it looks like it's ready to go into production.
The LS12 Lightspeed will have a turbocharged engine capable of producing over 180bhp. Its target opponent? The Ducati Diavel V4! According to the official statement, its production will start in the fourth quarter of this year. It has a limited version, but there will also be a standard production model.
Many ask, can it comply with the stricter Euro 5+ standards? The company is confident that they can make it happen. In fact, they plan to expand their market to North America, Australia, and the Middle East. To accomplish this, Langen Motorcycles is currently offering an opportunity to be a part of their shareholders until March this year.
