A 25-year-old student in Makati City was arrested after being accused of illegally selling firearms in a buy-bust operation conducted by authorities last afternoon.
Recognized by NCRPO chief, PBrig. General Anthony Aberin, the suspect alias "Jonathan," who was caught around 4:00 pm in Chino Roces Avenue, Barangay Magallanes, Makati.
According to the report, the operation was conducted by the District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) of the Southern Police District, in collaboration with the District Intelligence Division, District Mobile Force Battalion, and Makati City Police Station. Its purpose is to implement the election gun ban after receiving information about the suspect's illegal activities.
Confiscated from the suspect were a 5.56 rifle and two magazines with ammunition, a caliber 5.7 Ruger pistol and two magazines with only ammunition, an iPhone 12 used in the transaction, and a Toyota Corolla Altis. Various identification cards bearing the suspect's name were also found in the vehicle.
