YAMAHA gave valuable advice to Jack Miller about changing his riding style to suit the YZR-M1. After losing his place at KTM last year, Miller was abandoned by his team until he decided to switch from Ducati to Yamaha via Pramac, so he remained part of MotoGP.
According to Maio Meregalli, YAMAHA's team principal, Miller has a steeper learning curve compared to his future teammate, Miguel Oliveira. "We need experience, because in the previous races, we worked with two riders, not just one," said Meregalli. “Now, we have a new plan, and we're working hard to get as much data as we can. In my opinion, Miguel's driving style suits the YZR-M1, but Miller needs to change his driving style.”
Meregalli added that Oliveira has received positive feedback and is happy with the move. “I think having these two is a bonus for us. In terms of professionalism, experience, and communication with the team, you won't find anyone better than them,” shared Meregalli. “We will give everything to build a good relationship with them, and I love working with them. This boosts my interest in work.”
