Joel Seigle grew up in Elgin, Illinois, where his family owned a local lumber yard that gave him a deep connection to nature and craftsmanship. The Subwoofer Dining Table, or better known as Table Bass, is a unique creation completed in 2024, combining functionality and aesthetics. Using solid ash, there is a neutral-colored table top and the JBL 2226h driver installed on one table leg, finished with a custom iridescent red finish.
Demanding deeper bass that didn't require extra floor space, Seigle integrated the subwoofer into his dining table. The Table Bass was created in response to what Seigle saw as home systems compromising the limited space in modern city homes. "I've seen subwoofers hidden in coffee tables and benches but I want to show the driver and not hide it," he said on Instagram.
Instead of hiding the subwoofer on coffee tables or benches, he chose to make the speaker part of the design. This approach not only ensured a great audio experience, but also paved the way to replace mass-produced dining tables with a personalized and innovative piece.
The Table Bass reflects Seigle's creativity and dedication to high quality design. By merging form and function, he has created a practical solution that enhances not only the audio but also the visual aspect of the living space.
