Japan's X-PLUS Company X-PLUS Company recently launched a new movie-themed product "Gamera 2: Legion Strikes Back" — the 1/700 scale model kit of "Gamera" priced at 5,940 yen and expected to be released in June 2025!
The movie "Gamera 2: Legion Strikes Back" released in 1996, is the second part of the Heisei Trilogy directed by Shusuke Kaneko. The story takes place one year after the first film and shows a battle between alien beings called the "Legion," a silicon-based entity from space, against the Self-Defense Force and Gamera.
This model kit shows Gamera's appearance in the movie in 1/700 scale. The height of the finished model is about 10 cm, and the design has detailed skin, sharp claws, and back and stomach pieces that are split to accurately reflect his nature. Gamera's intense facial expressions are also well presented! The samples seen on the website are 3D-printed colored prototypes, and the actual product is uncolored and a kit that needs to be assembled with glue. Collectors and hobbyists can paint to recreate Gamera's look from the movie!
