Smart device brand Oppo has announced Spanish teenage football star Lamine Yamal as their latest global brand ambassador.
Yamal will participate in Oppo's "Make Your Moment" refresh initiative, which aims to inspire more young people around the world to "seize the present, channel passion into action, and create extraordinary stories for the future."
Specifically, Yamal will be part of football-related community initiatives aimed at supporting grassroots football development and facility upgrades, including open suggestions for other football charity projects from the youth.
Oppo's President of Overseas Marketing, Sales and Services Billy Zhang described Yamal as not only a great football player, but an inspirational young man with an amazing passion for the game.
"Like many young people around the world, Lamine does not allow fear or uncertainty about the future to hold him back," Zhang added. "Instead, he focuses on his passion and devotes energy to the present, finding satisfaction and strength through his dedication."
The new partnership is also a bridge between sports and technology, especially since Oppo also has a previous collaboration with the UEFA Champions League.
Yamal rose to fame in his debut as a 16-year-old in FC Barcelona's 2023-2024 season, setting several records in games in which he scored.
He was also part of the Spain squad that won UEFA Euro 2024, becoming the youngest ever to feature, assist and score in the tournament's history.
He was named Young Player of the Tournament and holds the most assists at a Euros with four.
