J Balvin and Casio G-Shock have announced their first collaboration through an exclusive box set. The Colombian artist and longtime G-Shock fan enters the world of horology with his first collaboration with G-Shock. This collaboration is the first time the Latin artist and the renowned watch brand have joined forces.
J Balvin's music motifs continue with his lightning logo found on the band, inspired by his second album Energía released in 2016. The same lightning bolts can be seen as cutout shapes on the band keepers, as well as engraved Balvin's smiley face logo on the stainless steel case back with his name. The additional Spanish text on the button labels is handwritten by J Balvin, a first time G-Shock has incorporated the language into their watches.

The original DWE-5600 watch has a Carbon Core Guard case for durability and is expected to be priced at $230 USD. As of now, the release date has not been revealed, but it is expected to be available worldwide.
