The Model Y received a facelift and new technical specifications while reinforcing the futuristic "Cybercab" aesthetic. The "Juniper" is expected to be quieter, faster, and smoother than the previous model, so it's a significant upgrade from the original. At first glance, a noticeable change in the exterior can be seen, especially in the new nose design of the vehicle which now has split headlights and a full-length wide LED light bar resembling the Cybertruck.
The bumper appears to take inspiration from the Model 3 Highland with the addition of slim side intakes. The hood-mounted Tesla logo was removed, giving a cleaner aesthetic.
At the back, there's a full-width darkened light strip that Tesla calls the first "indirect reflective body panel taillight." Although Tesla says the exterior is "completely redesigned," the side profile is still largely the same as previous Model Ys.
The overall length of the vehicle has increased by 41 mm and the EV rests on a new set of 20-inch Helix 2.0 wheels. In some markets, aero-friendly 19-inch Crossflow wheels are also available in black. As of now, the Model Y Juniper is expected to be available in two shades of blue, "Glacier Blue" and "Deep Blue."
As for the interior, Tesla has continued its minimalist design. However, the infotainment display has increased in size from 15 inches to 15.4 inches.
Rear passengers will also get an additional 8-inch touchscreen as well as newly designed seats and upholstery that are expected to provide a higher level of comfort and support to witnesses. The seats are also expected to have a new ventilated function.
Technology has also been upgraded for a lighter and smoother ride. Thanks to smarter technology, the Model Y is expected to be quieter thanks to new acoustic glass, retuned suspension, noise-optimized tires, and other aerodynamic changes. The chassis setup has been revised to provide more responsive steering and the dashboard, center console, and door cards have been redesigned with a new strip of ambient lighting, vegan suede inserts for a softer touch, and a new audio system. which is integrated into the display.
The output of the electric motors is still under wraps, but expect both trims to be a bit faster than the previous model. The Model Y Juniper has a price starting at $39,300 USD, depending on the market.
