Netflix has officially released the first teaser for Robert De Niro's upcoming limited series Zero Day.
De Niro plays the role of George Mullen, a former President of the United States, who is appointed to investigate a massive cyberattack. The teaser immediately sets the tone for the series, with George Mullen on high alert. From the beginning of the trailer, you can see Mullen's concern over the events that are taking place, worrying about what effect this cyberattack will have on the country and the entire world. At the beginning of the trailer, George Mullen can be heard saying, “Three thousand, four hundred and two people died on Zero Day. Plane wrecks, train wrecks. Total chaos.”
The respected former President of the U.S. that George Mullen, who is assigned to find the perpetrators of the cyberattack, is the head of the Zero Day Commission. He is expected to explore the reason behind the issue that has caused chaos and thousands of deaths across the country. As misinformation spreads, Mullen's search for the truth becomes increasingly difficult as personal goals between Wall Street, tech bros, and the government collide.
De Niro stars in the series alongside Angela Bassett, Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen, Connie Britton, Matthew Modine, Dan Stevens, Bill Camp, Gaby Hoffmann, and Clark Gregg. In the trailer, there are brief scenes of Plemons and Bassett where Bassett tells Mullen's character, “People believe what they have to believe. The truth is the truth, but it is not always the most important thing.”
Zero Day hits Netflix on February 20.
