FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have announced Elden Ring: Nightreign, an innovative cooperative spin-off that brings the beloved Elden Ring universe back to life. It was announced at The Game Awards 2024, and this ambitious project takes players to Limveld, a parallel version of Limgrave from the original game, providing a fresh take on the dark fantasy world.
Unlike its predecessor, Nightreign is a fully cooperative experience designed for up to three players. Players can choose from eight unique characters, each with their own skills and abilities, allowing for different playstyles and strategies. Whether playing solo or with friends, teamwork is essential to overcome randomized opponents and increasing challenges.
Gameplay introduces an innovative three-day cycle that combines roguelike elements with the series' signature action RPG format. Daytime serves as preparation, where weapons can be collected and enemy camps destroyed before dark. When darkness falls, the mighty Nightlords emerge, culminating in a climactic battle every third day. There are eight main bosses to defeat, so each session promises a unique challenge and reward.
Set for release in 2025, Elden Ring: Nightreign will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Watch the gameplay trailer above.
