ROSÉ has officially released her first solo studio album, rosie.
With a total duration of just under 40 minutes, the 12-track album features a guest appearance from Bruno Mars on the viral chart-topping hit “APT.” It also includes the previously-released “number one girl.” The BLACKPINK staple has used producers like Carter Lang, who worked on Ctrl and SZA's SOS, collaborators from Ye like Ojivolta, GRAMMY winner Greg Kurstin, and even Mars himself. On rosie, ROSÉ shows her satisfaction as a solo artist, exploring new sounds and writing lyrics based on her own experiences — like disappointment, toxic exes, and the weight of fame.
In a previous interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, ROSÉ shared that making the album was like therapy for her, allowing her to become a different person than when she started writing it. “I literally think of this album as a little capsule. When I listen to my songs, I remember every minute and everything I went through,” he said.
He added, "And without this album, maybe I still carry the old version of myself until now, because it's true... It's like a therapy session. So I poured it into something called ‘Rosie.’ And every studio I left, I had a story with me and I felt like I left it in the song.”
