To expand the Ingenieur collection, IWC has announced a new automatic model with a blue dial. The Maison first updated this model during Watches & Wonders Geneva last year, faithfully honoring the original ref. 1832 designed by Gérald Genta.
Housed in a 40mm stainless steel body, the Ingenieur Automatic 40 comes with an integrated metal bracelet. Like its black-dial counterpart, this timepiece showcases its iconic “grid-like” patterned dial, but with a sleek aqua PVD treatment.
The watch face has kept additional decorations to a minimum, with rhodium-plated baton hands and applied metal indices, all filled with Super-LumiNova® to ensure visibility in the dark.
This timepiece has a 5-day power reserve, powered by IWC's in-house 32111 self-winding movement. The caliber has a double pawl winding system that converts the movement of the wrist into energy. Moreover, there is a soft-iron inner case that protects the movement from magnetic fields, keeping accurate time in line with the technical heritage of the Ingenieur series.
The Ingenieur Automatic 40 with blue dial is priced at $11,700 USD and is currently available for inquiry at IWC.
