The collaboration between Mann and RIMOWA is a fortunate opportunity. It began when Mann was living in Copenhagen as part of an artist residency program, while RIMOWA was seeking inspiration from the city's colors for their 2024 product line.
According to Mann in an interview with Artnet, "It was a total coincidence that RIMOWA was also seeking inspiration from Copenhagen for this collection. The dark blue waters of the canals surrounded by swimming people—a city full of water and colorful architecture—which I think comes across in the final result."
The idea of carrying a masterpiece while traveling is important to the artist, and it resonated with him. "I decided to travel with a creative purpose. Every journey should have meaning and a plan."
