According to reports, Sony is currently developing a new portable handheld console that could rival the Nintendo Switch.
A report from Bloomberg states that the tech giant is planning a portable console capable of playing PlayStation 5 (PS5) games. This gaming system builds on the PlayStation Portal, an existing product from Sony similar to the Steam Deck, which allows players to play PS5 games on a handheld device via internet streaming. However, gamers are expected to wait a few years before it is released, and there is also the possibility that Sony may cancel the product.
According to Bloomberg, a handheld gaming console for PS5 games could enhance Sony's reach and appeal, especially as the company has started focusing on mobile gaming, PC gaming, and live-service titles. This new portable system could also compete with the handheld console that Microsoft is currently developing for Xbox.
Noong nakaraan, naglabas ang Sony ng mga portable consoles tulad ng PS Vita at PlayStation Portable (PSP) ngunit hindi ito nagtagumpay at pareho silang itinigil sa produksyon.
