Romy and Sampha were first together in March, when Romy was a guest on Wave Therapy Sampha's radio show and they performed "Me&My (To Bury Your Parents)” by André 3000. Since then, they've had the chance to record in the studio, and they recently unveiled their first official and original collaborative song.
Titled “I'm on your team,” the song has a truly dual-minded delivery, with the musicians from the UK effortlessly working together on the ethereal four-minute track. The song's piano-laden production comes from Thomas Bartlett.
"It's a love song but lyrically, it's honest and true," said Romy about the song. "It's like we've experienced magic and dreams, but now we've been through things together, so we're here and putting in the work."
Sampha added, “I like the idea of being part of a team, that you have to show support to each other, and from that you get a deeper connection.”
“I'm on your team” also came with a live version visual, where musicians from the UK performed at the Young Space in London.
