As the year draws to a close, the Honda CB1000 Hornet, which has long been popular in the street car market, not only has news about the 2025 model, Honda also announced that they will release a special version, the CB1000 Hornet SP! The equipment, electronic control system, and others have been improved. So let's take a look at its exciting features!
Aside from the regular version of the 2025 Honda CB1000 Hornet, there will also be a special version called the CB1000 Hornet SP.
Let's look at the engine part first. The CB1000 Hornet SP uses a 1,000c.c. water-cooled four-cylinder engine of the CB1000RR Fireblade, but the difference is, its power output is more outstanding! The maximum horsepower of the whole motor is 115.6kW@11,000rpm, and the maximum torque is 107Nm@9,000rpm. The transmission has also been adjusted to make acceleration smoother, especially in the middle and tail sections, for a better riding experience. There is also a 3-stage adjustable quick-shift system so you can adjust it depending on your driving trip.
CB1000 Hornet SP will use the same engine but the performance is more outstanding than CB1000RR Fireblade.
In the electronic control system, there are three driving modes that can be selected (rain, standard, sport) and two customized modes that you can set. You can adjust the horsepower output of the motor and engine using the left handlebar and instrument info. It includes braking force and HSTC system. In rain mode, the power output will be adjusted to the lowest, mid-range engine braking, and the most responsive HSTC system; in standard mode, the power output, engine braking, and HSTC system are in the middle settings; while in sports mode, the power output is at max and the engine braking and HSTC systems are at minimum. With two custom modes, you can save your favorite settings and switch quickly.
The electronic control part provides three modes and two customizations that you can set as you like.
The sports mode that focuses on power output is intriguing, and many are sure to be curious about what it feels like to drive it.
As for the equipment, the front suspension will use a fully adjustable Showa 41mm SFF-BP front fork, while at the back is a fully adjustable Öhlins TTX36 rear shock absorber. Braking is installed with a Brembo Stylema radial pair of four calipers, a 310mm disc at the front, and a 240mm disc with a Nissin single-piston caliper at the rear. The front tire is 120/70-R17 and the rear is 180/55-R17. The wheelbase is 1,455mm, seat height is 809mm, and the weight of the motor reaches 212 kg.
All models come with high-end brand products, so the equipment is really more upgraded.
The standard specifications of the motor include famous brands like Brembo and Öhlins which are admired by many car fans.
The entire car series also has full-LED lamps and has one of the most representative fuel tank shapes of the Hornet car series. The instrument panel uses a 5-inch TFT full LCD with mobile phone connectivity and navigation functions for clearer reading of information during the day and night. ESS function for emergency braking is also included. But if you want a lot of color options, you might be disappointed because the special version of the CB1000 Hornet SP only has one color—metallic black—but it has "golden chopsticks" and a gold wheel frame, so it looks very high quality!
