The new season takes place five years after the first season, and in the trailer, we see a seemingly peaceful community where the two find refuge. With the sound of the song “Future Days” by Pearl Jam, the infected suddenly attacked the community, forcing them to flee again.
“After five years of peace since the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie's past returns, and it brings them into conflict with each other and into a world more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind ,” HBO said.
