Meta has produced a mixed reality headset that claims to have the same capabilities as the Quest 3, but at a lower price. The Meta Quest 3S is called the headset for those "new to mixed reality and immersive experiences" or people looking to upgrade from the Quest or Quest 2.
The Quest 3S is priced at $300 USD (PHP 16,800), compared to the $500 (PHP 28,000) USD of the Quest 3. The latter was originally priced at $650 USD and was only released last year, but Meta says they use the same technology developed for the headset in the Quest 3S.
Among its advanced capabilities is full-color Passthrough, which allows the user to see the real world around them while in a virtual reality experience. The company also updated Meta Horizon OS for spatial computing and improved the use of 2D apps.
The Meta Quest 3S is now available for pre-order with 128 and 256GB options.
