Some of the most iconic shoes, whether on the road or the football pitch, have a unique architecture. The late Virgil Abloh knew this all too well, who in 2017 flipped the design of some of Nike's most innovative silhouettes, and has been changing the trend in footwear design ever since.
Now, Nike is venturing into new territory—a digital stadium that will be part of an upcoming game from EA SPORTS, FC 25. Called the Nike Air Zoom Arena, it looks like a cross between Manchester City's Etihad and Marseille's Stade Vélodrome, along with the iconic Mercurial cleats. The result? A sleek and modern look that reflects the sophisticated gameplay of the FC series, as well as the dynamic footballers who have donned Nike boots over the years.
This can be seen in the new 5v5 matches in Ultimate Team and Clubs, where the Nike Air Zoom Arena is part of the EA SPORTS innovation called Rush, where you can replace AI players and play with friends. The clubs are smaller, the game is faster, and more goals are expected.
Like every new game over the past two decades, FC 25 will bring new features, including an expanded career mode, unique rewards and celebrations in Ultimate Team, and more realistic in-game movements and controls, thanks to the new EA's FC IQ and HyperMotionV technology.
FC 25 will be released globally on September 27, 2024.
