Netflix has released the official trailer for their new NBA-focused docuseries called Starting 5. The series follows five of the league's biggest superstars, including LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, and Domantas Soap.
In this series, fans will get a closer look at the daily routine of each NBA star, from their training and motivations to their journey to greatness while battling injuries and balancing family and building a legacy. . The series is directed by Susan Ansman, Trishtan Williams, Peter J. Scalettar and executive producers Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, Philip Byron and Randy Mims (for UNINTERRUPTED); President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Vinnie Malhotra and Ethan Lewis (for Higher Ground); and Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz and Sam Pepper (for Omaha Productions). Big names join forces to capture the lives of five of the NBA's biggest stars.
The official synopsis states, “James forces himself to be stronger than ever to stay healthy and dominant in his 21st season, while Edwards enjoys his rapid rise. Butler's relentless drive fuels the Heat, Sabonis serves as the cornerstone of the Kings with his versatile play, and Tatum leads the Celtics in their pursuit of a record 18th championship. Starting 5 provides an unfiltered look at life at the pinnacle of professional basketball.”
The docuseries will have 10 episodes of 45 minutes each and will premiere on October 9 on Netflix. Watch the official trailer above.
