Hiroshi Fujiwara's fragment design and the professional Japanese mahjong league M.League have collaborated to create new products that will help increase the popularity of mahjong.
M.League chose the fragment design for this collaboration to “make mahjong more accessible to more people and promote it as a brain sport.” The traditional Chinese game is about matching tiles — with designs like bamboo sticks, dragons, flowers, and more — to form sets and pairs. M.League is known as "the first national team mahjong league where top mahjong professionals fight for supremacy."
In this collaboration, the main product is a dual-branded electric mahjong table in black. It has an instant point storage system, automatic deal function, dice box simulator, and the AMOS REXX III system for maximum speed. The collection also includes mahjong tiles made of urea resin (with navy and gray sets) with original designs from Fujiwara, and an accessory set with a binder, score sheet, calculator, and ballpoint pen with the logos of the two brands.
The collection is now available for pre-order, priced from ¥5,500 JPY (PHP2,181) to ¥1,485,000 JPY(PHP588,928) on ABEMA's webstore. Deliveries are expected to begin in January 2025. Check out the designs in the gallery above.
