At the beginning of the year, Netflix announced that there would be a second season of Gyeongseong Creature. With the latest promotional trailer, the series is confirmed to return this fall.
While the first season was set in Gyeongseong (the former name of Seoul) during the turmoil, the second season will take the story to the capital of South Korea in the year 2024. Han So Hee will continue the role of Yoon Chae-ok, a detective who faces confusion over his identity after the events of the previous season. In present-day Seoul, Yoon meets Ho-jae (Park Seo-joon), a young man who bears a striking resemblance to Jang Tae-sang — a man whose fate crossed his path in the spring of 1945.
According to Chung Dong-yoon, the director of the series, "Season 2 features a story with a completely different charm," adding that "the change in space and time will provide a clear difference, offering of the sense of an expanded universe.”
Watch the official trailer for the second season of Gyeongseong Creature ahead of its premiere on September 27.
