McLaren has introduced the new Artura Trophy EVO, which will ignite the McLaren Trophy championships from the 2025 season. This new race car has significant upgrades in power, grip and driver engagement, alongside the launch of a new Pro driver category and the McLaren Trophy Academy which aims to elevate the racing experience to a higher level.
The Artura Trophy EVO, a powerful version of the previous model, is powered by a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine, which now delivers 620 hp thanks to the new "Push to Pass" feature. This system, designed for more effective overtaking, is proof of McLaren's dedication to enhancing driver engagement and competitive edge on the track.
Besides the extra power, the Artura Trophy EVO has wider tires and tuned suspension for higher mechanical grip, along with a new aerodynamic design. The vehicle's aggressive stance is accentuated by a revised front bumper, hood outlet, and wider wheel arches, all of which contribute to better cooling and reduced lift.
The new Pro category, open to Silver solo or Silver/Silver pairings, aims to nurture the next generation of GT racing stars. Young drivers who fall under this category will automatically join the McLaren Trophy Academy, where they will be trained in driving skills, motorsport engineering, and media handling. The best performers will have the opportunity to participate in the annual McLaren Young Driver Shoot Out, with the aim of entering the prestigious McLaren Factory Driver program.
With the expansion of the McLaren Trophy to North America in 2025, the Artura Trophy EVO and its related initiatives mark a new phase for the brand's presence in global GT racing.
