Apple TV+ has officially given the go signal to continue the popular show Ted Lasso for a fourth season. Variety has confirmed that Warner Bros. has acquired Television show for season four, still with original cast members Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift. According to the report, Sudeikis will still be a part of the new season as an executive producer.
The Ted Lasso was originally developed by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Hunt, and Joe Kelly, and is based on the format and characters from NBC Sports. Due to the massive success of the fourth season of the Apple TV+ comedy, Warner Bros. TV is the option for the three main characters, their contracts have been secured. The studio is also expected to acquire other cast members whose SAG-AFTRA contracts are about to expire. Although it is not yet clear who the entire cast is, the new season is targeting to start production in early 2025.
Previously, Ted Lasso won 13 Emmys over three seasons, including two straight wins for Outstanding Comedy Series and acting wins for Sudeikis and Goldstein. The season three finale aired in May 2023, which showed Keeley and Rebecca's plan to start a new project for the AFC Richmond Women's Team. Stay tuned for more information about the show.
