The felt fedora worn by Harrison Ford in *Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom* was sold at auction for $630,000 USD. The hat was originally made specifically for the 1984 film *Temple of Doom* by the Herbert Johnson Hat Company in London.
Directed by Steven Spielberg and based on a story by George Lucas, the fedora first appears when Indiana Jones survives an assassination attempt by escaping from a plane using an inflatable raft. The fedora was also worn during the filming of scenes by Ford's stunt double, Dean Ferrandini.
The hat remained in Dean Ferrandini's personal collection and was sold last year following his passing.
The auction, conducted by Propstore in Los Angeles on Thursday, saw the final bid for the fedora reach $630,000 USD, more than double the price of another *Temple of Doom* fedora that was auctioned for $300,000 USD in 2021.
The auction also featured items such as a helmet from *Return of the Jedi(1983) and a wand used by Daniel Radcliffe in *Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004).
