
The CIDG arrested three Chinese nationals and a Filipino after they were caught with unregistered beauty products worth P4.27 million in Malabon. According to Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, director of the CIDG, has filed charges against the suspects for violation of Republic Act 9711 or the Food and Drug Administration Act.
The suspects are known by their aliases Kevin, Leo, and Yin, while their Filipino accomplice was identified as Angelito. They were caught in an entrapment operation in Barangay Maysilo on April 22. According to authorities, they are selling acne spot treatments and other beauty products that are not certified by the FDA.
Seized from them were 30 boxes of acne spot serum. Torre said, "We have prevented the sale and trade of unregistered beauty products that could pose a risk to public health." The police also urged the public to be cautious when purchasing health and beauty products.
