A 55-year-old jeepney driver was shot and killed while inside a jeepney terminal in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Antipolo early Wednesday morning. On CCTV, a man wearing a helmet and facemask was seen entering the terminal. He approached the victim and fired a gun while he was sitting and using his cellphone.
According to Barangay Sta. Cruz, people at the terminal immediately called the police after the shooting. The PNP and barangay safety officers responded to the incident. According to initial investigation, the victim and the suspect allegedly had a previous dispute.
In CCTV backtracking, it was seen that the suspect came from Masinag on a motorcycle with a rider. After the shooting, they fled back to Masinag. A colleague of the victim said, he had no enemies and had been a jeepney driver in the area for a long time.
The investigation by the authorities is ongoing and a manhunt operation is currently underway to catch the perpetrators.
