A 61-year-old Filipino household worker died in a burglary incident in Milan on Sunday, according to a report from the Philippine Consulate General in Milan on Monday.
Based on initial reports, the Filipino was choked to death by a suspect who entered the apartment of his Israeli employer near Parco Sempione. The Italian police caught the suspect at the scene of the crime.
The Philippine Consulate issued a statement on Monday, saying they sympathize with the victim's family. They also promised to assist, especially in repatriating the victim's remains to the Philippines.
Consulate officials met with the victim's family to provide assistance. They are also encouraging the Filipino community in Milan to pray for the victim.
