A fire broke out again at a plastic and shampoo factory in Barangay Veinte Reales, Valenzuela City on Sunday, after it was initially declared under control by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The fire started on April 18 at 5 p.m. and intensified by 7:50 p.m., prompting the immediate response of firefighters from various locations. According to the BFP, there were flammable chemicals inside the plant, which made it difficult to extinguish the fire.
The fire was initially brought under control on Saturday morning but reignited at 1:09 p.m. the next day. It was extinguished by 3 p.m. According to workers, the fire started in the waste materials warehouse. No one was inside the plant when it broke out.
Although it was close to residential areas, no homes were affected. Several residents were evacuated as a precaution. No injuries or deaths were reported, according to the BFP.
The arson probers investigation is continuing to determine the cause of the fire and the cost of the damage.
In Sta. Cruz, Manila, a building fire at the corner of Kalimbas and Bambang also broke out yesterday. It started 11 a.m. and reached second alarm after 3 minutes. It was brought under control at 11:43 a.m. and completely extinguished at 11:58 a.m.
