The MMDA will deploy 2,500 traffic enforcers for the expected heavy traffic this weekend as people return to Metro Manila from the Holy Week vacation.
According to Charlie Nosares from MMDA Metrobase, so far they have not monitored any traffic buildup even though there are road repairs on C-5 Road in Pasig and Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City.
“It's good news because no accidents have been reported yet, and because the road is still relatively open, we always remind drivers to be careful when driving,” he said in an interview with Teleradyo Serbisyo.
However, traffic is expected to be congested come Sunday afternoon as people return. “There are 2,500 personnel ready to be deployed to help with traffic as our countrymen return to the city,” Nosares added.
He also said that they expect traffic build-up to start around 4:30 PM until Monday morning. So he advised, to leave early for work to avoid the heavy traffic.
