Danny Dearden, a former X Factor UK contestant, has passed away at the age of 34. His manager Denise Beighton shared the sad news on Instagram. She said she was “Heartbroken to wake up to the news”, and that she still doesn't have enough words for the singer's sudden loss.
The cause of death has not been mentioned, but Danny's last post on IG was a photo of a hot chocolate from the hospital, with the caption: “Costa Coffee #HotChocolates #thebestthingssinceslicedbread.”
Spice Girls' Mel B also paid tribute to Danny, who was her mentor on the show. On her IG story, Mel B said she remembered how talented and kind Danny was, even back in his X Factor days.
Despite not reaching live shows in 2014, Danny still had 15 million streams and over 30,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. He rose to fame with the songs “Come Down” and “Different Kind of Love.”
