A missing cat, Luna, has been found abroad four months after she mysteriously disappeared. According to The Independent, Luna disappeared in November 2024 from her and Sophie Carty's home in Darlington, England.
Sophie searched hard for her cat, calling and following up on every possible lead. But in March, Luna was found in a shed in Inverness, Scotland—which is 300 miles away from Darlington.
Luna was immediately taken to Highland Vet Referrals, where her microchip was scanned. Luna's identity was determined and she was immediately reunited with her owner. "I can't believe it. It's a six-hour drive from where she went missing," said Carty.
When Luna was found, she was malnourished, had an infection, and had nerve damage. She was immediately taken to the vet for medical treatment. Now, she can move around with help and is very happy to be home. "She’s getting lots of cuddles and attention," Carty added.
In July 2024, another cat was accidentally put in a box and shipped to an Amazon warehouse in the US, after its owner failed to notice.
