Three senior high school students in Baseco, Manila were arrested after a 16-year-old classmate complained of rape. According to police, the victim and the suspects had been drinking on the night of April 5 at the house of one of the men.
The victim's story is that she fell asleep drinking and woke up to find someone kissing her. One of the suspects allegedly held her hands and covered her mouth while someone was doing something wrong to her. Everyone was drunk so the victim managed to sneak out and run to a friend's house.
Before the incident, the victim had even texted her mother to say she was at a friend's house. After the incident, she was taken to the hospital where the doctor confirmed that she had been abused.
The suspects are reluctant to speak but according to Baseco Police, the case is ongoing and they are now in police custody. The DSWD is also currently assisting the victim with his emotional recovery.
The police added that they continue to conduct public awareness seminars in schools to prevent such incidents. They also remind young people: listen to parents' advice to avoid disaster.
