A 22-month-old boy, son of social media influencer Lindsay Dewey, has died after a heavy glass fell on him at their home.
In her Instagram stories, Lindsay recounted the sad incident. According to her, her son Reed was playing with a suction cup bowl, and it stuck to the mirror. As he tried to remove it, he pulled it and the mirror fell on him.
He said he didn't hear Reed playing near the mirror. He just heard it fall, so he immediately picked it up. When he saw the child, he was awake but not crying, so he thought he was fine.
But he noticed that Reed had a severe head injury. His skull was crushed by falling glass, causing severe traumatic brain injury. He went into a coma and later died.
According to Lindsay, they still can't believe what happened. She shared their story to serve as a warning to other parents.
"We don't want this to happen to anyone else. A lot of people have wondered what the unanchored items are in their homes. Hopefully this will be a lesson for everyone," Lindsay said.
