Mattel has launched a new Manananggal doll that can be split in two, like the famous creature in Philippine folklore.
It is called Corazon Marikit, which according to Mattel's website reflects Filipino fashion and tradition. The doll can separate the upper and lower partsof its body, mimicking the ability of a manananggal to fly at night.
Corazon Marikit is dressed in foil print and fringe, with stylish embroidered bat wings. According to Mattel, she appears to walk across a stage filled with jasmine while baring her fangsthat seem to be thirsty for blood.
The doll is priced at $75 (Php4,304) and has a unique two-part packaging design. With levers, the doll can be displayed in various creepy poses. Its stand allows you to move the upper body up and down, while the lower body can rotate and swing.

In 2024, Mattel also released a Filipino Barbie with terno sleeves, a malong-inspired skirt, and stiletto heels in the shape of a shack. It is also adorned with a crown with the Philippine sun, elegant gold jewelry, and detailed batok tattoos on the arms. It was designed by Carlyle Nuera, a Filipino-American designer who works at Barbie Signature.
