Hideo Kojima has announced the official trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the direct sequel to the 2019 game Death Stranding.It was shown off during the PlayStation panel at SXSW on Sunday. The 10-minute trailer gave a sneak peek at the game's story, visuals, new characters and threats. Most importantly, it also confirmed theofficial release date.
In this new adventure, the theme of “connections”continues as players explore unknown territories in another genre-defying game from Kojima. The trailer also features “To The Wilder” by Woodkid, a new song that will be the game's theme.
The Collector’s Edition ($230 USD) has a full digital game with 48-hour early access, collector’s edition box, 15-inch Magellan Man statue, 3-inch Dollman figurine, art cards, letter from Hideo Kojima and various in-game items.
The Digital Deluxe Edition ($80 USD) has the full game, early access and some in-game items, while the Digital Standard Edition ($70 USD) has full game only.
All pre-orders (starting March 17, 10 a.m. local time) come with bonuses like Quokka Hologram and silver versions of Battle Skeleton, Boost Skeleton and Bokka Skeleton.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released exclusively on PS5 on June 26, 2025.
