Scuderia Ferrari has officially launched the SF-25, the car they will compete in 2025 Formula 1 season, at an event at the O2 Arena, London. Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, Team Principal Fred Vasseur, and their drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton attended the unveiling. The SF-25 will first be tested at Fiorano privately before heading to Bahrain for pre-season testing from February 26 to 28.
The SF-25 is the 71st F1 car of Ferrari. While the name is still the same, it has had a major design change. Under the management of Loic Serra, the team changed the front suspension system from pushrod to pullrod. This change will help with better airflow and aerodynamics. Although the engine has not changed due to F1 regulations, Ferrari has upgraded the performance strategy to make it more effective in every race.
Besides the technical changes, Ferrari also changed its livery. Now, the Racing Red color is deeper and matte, with a bold white stripe for a modern look, and thin glossy red and white details that pay tribute to Ferrari's classic style. This design is inspired from the 499 Hypercar in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Also noticeable are the red wheel rims and the race numbers of Leclerc and Hamilton, written in Ferrari Sans, the official Ferrari font.
The SF-25 will test its first real competition in Bahrain before the season opener in Australia in March 16.
